Lamborghini Unveils High-Performance Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera
Extreme Weight Reduction for Track-Inspired Supercar
Trimmed-Down Model Delivers Enhanced Performance
In March 2010, Lamborghini announced the release of the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, a high-performance variant of its popular Gallardo supercar. The Superleggera has undergone extensive weight reduction measures, shedding approximately 126 pounds (57 kilograms) compared to the standard Gallardo.
To achieve this weight savings, Lamborghini utilized lightweight materials and components throughout the vehicle, including carbon fiber and titanium. As a result, the Superleggera's performance has been enhanced, with improved acceleration and handling capabilities.
Under the hood, the Superleggera boasts a revised version of the Gallardo's 5.2-liter V-10 engine, which produces 10 horsepower more than the standard LP560-4. This extra power results in a quarter-mile time that is significantly faster than the previous model.
