Craig Berube Fired as St. Louis Blues Head Coach

Berube Led Blues to Stanley Cup Title in 2019

Drew Bannister Named Interim Head Coach

The St. Louis Blues have fired head coach Craig Berube after six seasons, the team announced Tuesday night. The decision came after the Blues' 6-4 loss to the Detroit Red Wings, their fourth straight defeat.

Berube led the Blues to their first Stanley Cup title in 2019, but the team has struggled in recent seasons, missing the playoffs in each of the past two years. The Blues are currently 19-26-3 this season, 13th in the Western Conference.

Assistant coach Drew Bannister has been named interim head coach. Bannister has been with the Blues since 2018 and has been an assistant coach for the past four seasons.

The Blues will begin their search for a permanent head coach immediately.
